Hero has launched the Xtreme 250R at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at Rs 1.80 lakh. The Xtreme 250R is the most powerful Hero model currently on sale.
- Hero Xtreme 250R makes 30hp and 25Nm
- 250cc engine is derived from Hero’s existing 210cc mill
- Bookings begin in February, and deliveries in March
The Xtreme 250R is powered by a new 250cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, making 30hp and 25Nm. The 250cc unit is derived from the existing 210cc mill first seen in the reincarnated Karizma. Hero has worked on its internals and increased the stroke by 7mm to achieve the added cubic capacity. The crank witnesses a change, while the head remains unchanged. Hero claims the Xtreme 250R can achieve a 0-60kph sprint in 3.25 seconds. Housing this new engine is a steel-trellis frame suspended by a USD fork and a monoshock.
Aesthetically, the Xtreme 250R looks sharp and has a typical aggressive streetfighter stance with a front-heavy design. It gets a split seat setup with a step-up for the pillion seat. The tail-light section looks clean as the number plate holder and rear tyre hugger are mounted lower on the swingarm.
With a Rs 1.80 lakh price tag, the Hero Xtreme 250R comfortably undercuts rivals like the Suzuki Gixxer 250, KTM 250 Duke and Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. Bookings for the Xtreme 250R begin in February, and deliveries will start in March.
